Today I used Twitter to check hundreds of updates, follow a new person or two, get all my news (both social and actual), make dinner plans, and tell others what I was up to.
I logged on to Facebook for one second to wish a friend happy birthday.
Is twitter on the rise?

I think you're on to something. In a society that is becoming so fast paced it is becoming difficult for people to maintain sites such as facebook. Twitter is quick and easy, 140 charters of what your doing. No photos, personal stories or any of the other things found in the info section of facebook. Twitter is quick and to the point, much like our society.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely say twitter is on the rise. Look at how many changes facebook has made in recent months that are reminiscent of twitter. I just wonder if facebook incorporating twitter like features will create some sort of social networking super power, or if twitter will be able to rise with just its simple interface...
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm not very much a fan of Facebook anymore. In 2006 when I first joined it was something different and fresh from MySpace, which is why so many people flocked from MySpace in the first place.
ReplyDeleteNow, because Facebook has become more and more like MySpace with it's plethora of applications, the enthusiasm for Facebook is gone. Twitter is something bold, fresh, and new, and that is why use it more now.
the only thing i like about facebook, that twitter doesnt do is automatic refresh. Other than that i find twitter to be much more useful. I feel like facebook is becoming the new myspace. ITs not there yet, but its definatley going downhill, although i heard Mark Zuckerman has moved up on the list of worlds richest people within the past year.
